astral_blood I'm a big fan of the black metal music by Keys of Orthanc and i wasn't sure if a dungeon album will work but it does. I feel like i'm in Middle Earth fighting a big battle ⚔️⚔️ Favorite track: One Last Hunt.

Sonny92 I'm generally not much of a fan of dungeon synth. I can stomach the odd interlude in a black metal release, but a whole album dedicated to the style usually leaves me cold. This, however, is pretty good. It is epic and bombastic in style and conjures images of warrior bands marching to war in defence of their families or some high ideal against the marauding forces of evil ne'er-do-wells. May even be my favourite dungeon synth album to date.

Canadian fantasy black metal warriors Keys of Orthanc are back with their first full Dungeon Synth album.

While working on a new Lord of the Rings themed black metal album, "Unfinished Conquest" is a Dungeon Synth ode to all heroes who marched to, fought and died on glorious quests and adventures.

These musicians know how to drive music straight to the heart. Black metal is more than a cold premise for refined guitar work and multiple changes inside each song. Lyrics too are incredibly inspired and matching with music. Marrasmieli is a newborn flower, still covered by dew's brightness. Aallot is in particular a lesson of emotional crescendo, especially in second half of the song but in general, all the tracklist remains on the peak of the best inspiration. Inspired and well composed lyrics are embraced by a tracklist with no fillers. Each song coherent with others without losing identity. Clean choruses remembering Opeth's good old times but no real comparison needed. Helgafell album walks on tradition of british extreme and folk music: I recognized Wolcensmen and Jethro Tull inspiration combined with more traditional black metal influences.
